Staines re-signs with Panthers until 2021

MapSports Charlie Staines has agreed to terms with the Penrith Panthers for the next 3 seasons.
Staines, who enjoyed a break out season for the Panthers in 2018, was a consistent standout for the SG Ball team that not only won the NSWRL SG Ball competition but went onto to take the crown of the best 18 year old team in Australia with a victory over South Logan Magpies.

What makes Staines season even more special is that he managed to perform with a truncated preseason and also the weekly ritual of travelling down to Penrith once a week for training and playing purposes. When you factor in Charlie will now relocate to Sydney to train 4 nights a week with his team mates it shows that the sky is the limit for the Forbes junior. Prior to relocating in October/November Staines will finish his schooling out west and continue to star for the Forbes Magpies U18's and First Grade teams.

Panthers recruitment staff were glowing in their summation of Staines when we spoke with them, "Charlie really blossomed in 2018 and we saw him elevate every week and by the end of the season, he was coming up with a couple of plays each game that only special players can make. We wont get a head of ourselves but Charlie is a terrific prospect and we look forward to him coming down to Penrith and accelerating his development."

Staines signing will see him move into the Panthers house with a couple of MapSports stablemates from Parkes in Billy Burns and Brad Gaut.

Everyone at MapSports wishes Charlie the best for the next few years.
