MapSports would like to congratulate Sam Hughes on re-singing with the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs for the 2027 season. Hughes, a Cronulla Sharks junior spent time in the Parramatta Eels full-time system before joining the Dogs in the 2022 season and debuting in the NRL in the 2023 season.
Hughes has gone on to make 48 NRL appearances over the past 4 seasons and will gear up to add to that number in 2027.
When discussing the signing with the club, Hughes commented, “I’m happy to continue my journey here with the Dogs. They have been really good to me and this is the club where my NRL career began. I know I have had some unfortunate setbacks, but they are out of my control and I look forward to working hard come the preseason to get in really good shape for the 2027 season.”
A Bulldogs official added, “Sam is a unique character who builds harmony within the group and when you add that to his obvious physicality you have a pretty good combination when evaluating a player. We certainly hope Sam gets back to his best because when he does he is a very difficult player to handle or evade.”
Everyone at MapSports wishes Sam all the very best.
